Images of the turning of the season, the cooling of the long, hot days. The new art exhibition at the Museum in São Brás takes a deep breath of the new, fresher breezes with interesting works of fine- and applied-arts including silk paintings, tile paintings and model boats as well as sculptures and landscape paintings. The diversity of the artworks is reflected by the diversity of the artists themselves: Brinda Priem, Ricardo Inácio, Stella Andrea, Vesna Pantelic, Kristina Pantelic and Siegfried Mundt.
The opening of the exhibition on the 13th September at 19.00 will be celebrated with a short performance by Aperitivo theatre group .

The Jazz-Club of the Amigos do Museu in São Brás will start the new season on the 21st of September at 5 p.m.(17.00 hrs), with a huge African Party, featuring the famous `ZÉ MANEL MARTINS’ (Afro-Latino) quintet and several guest players from Africa.
Together with the ISU(Algarve University Project, the objective of which is to help children in need in former Portuguese colonies) they will give an African look to the outdoor space of the Museum with handicraft and jewellery stalls, African food and drinks and a photo presentation of "the Friends of NÔ DJUNTA MON", a very worthwhile support project, that could use your help, too!!!
No reservations required. Tickets 10 € (friends 8€), available at the door.

Auction of Fine Antiques and Collectables
On Saturday 27 September, an auction of Fine Antiques and Collectables will be held at the Museu do Trajo de São Brás de Alportel to raise funds for the Amigos do Museu, a well deserved cultural cause.
As usual, the auction is being organised by Carmen Hoke, an ex New Yorker and now long standing resident of the Algarve with plenty of knowledge and experience in this field.
The items up for auction need to go on the Amigos website with photos, provenance and detailed descriptions. They are especially looking for art, silverware, jewellery, antique chairs and other antique furniture, porcelain as well as fine collectables
For sale they have to date; Chinese antiques, Ivory (with certification), 16th century Rocking Horses and more. All these items can be seen on their website:

So, if you would like to submit your prize family heirloom(s) for auction and get onto the website as soon as possible, please contact Ian at:
